First Lesson In SEO

This is the lesson that most seo's learn in the last and the hard way i.e. after many failures

Although it is a first lesson in SEO, but believe me, as far as my experience is concerned, this is the lesson that most seo's learn in the last and the hard way i.e. after many failures. Remember the purpose of SEO is not to SPAM or Dodge search engines nor to fool the internet searcher. SEO is a very responsible task that requires deep thinking and long term focus, rather than short trem benefits.

First Lesson: Know Your Audience
The fist and foremost thing that you should focus with all web-site design, the best objective for your site, is to help your visitors achieve a desired result, whether that's purchasing a product, signing up for a newsletter, or finding the desired information.

You should be able to answer these questions i.e. Why people are coming to our site? Where they are coming from? And what they do once they get there?

If you do not have clear answers for these yet, my advice is to forget everything for now and solve these seemingly innocent and easy but very diffult and core questions first.

  • Next keep in mind the

Important Elements of a Website
Search engine optimization is essentially the science of designing your web site to maximize your search engine rankings. This means that all of the elements of your web site are created with the goal of obtaining high search engine rankings. Those elements include:

  • Entry and exit pages
  • Page titles
  • Site content
  • Graphics
  • Web site structure

The second imporatant thing is

Search Engine Criteria

Some of the chief criteria by which a search engine crawler determines the rank your site should have in a set of results include:

  • Anchor texts
  • Site popularity
  • Link context
  • Topical links
  • Title tags
  • Keywords
  • Site language
  • Content
  • Site maturity

Much has been said and written about the definitions of these terms that I have listed above, if you have not yet mastered them fully, do not worry, I will clarify them in detail in coming posts, however if you are curious enough, read my internet marketing article on Google Knol and other on SEO at Hubpages.

If you have read these articles and you have questions, feel free to ask them in the commnets below, and I will try to answer them one by one. Thanks

The challenges of aggregating data from consumer-oriented devices, such as wearable technologies and smart thermostats, are fairly well-understood. However, there are a new set of challenges for IoT devices that generate megabytes or gigabytes of data per second. Certainly, the infrastructure will have to change, as those volumes of data will likely overwhelm the available bandwidth for aggregating the data into a central repository. Ochandarena discusses a whole new way to think about your next...

Cell networks have the advantage of long-range communications, reaching an estimated 90% of the world. But cell networks such as 2G, 3G and LTE consume lots of power and were designed for connecting people. They are not optimized for low- or battery-powered devices or for IoT applications with infrequently transmitted data. Cell IoT modules that support narrow-band IoT and 4G cell networks will enable cell connectivity, device management, and app enablement for low-power wide-area network IoT. B...

When talking IoT we often focus on the devices, the sensors, the hardware itself. The new smart appliances, the new smart or self-driving cars (which are amalgamations of many ‘things'). When we are looking at the world of IoT, we should take a step back, look at the big picture. What value are these devices providing. IoT is not about the devices, its about the data consumed and generated. The devices are tools, mechanisms, conduits. This paper discusses the considerations when dealing with the...
