Adaptive Computing Delivers Moab for HP ProLiant and BladeSystem Platforms

The worldwide reseller agreement lays the foundation for HP to deliver integrated dynamic workload solutions

Adaptive Computing said today it has signed an agreement for HP to resell Moab Adaptive Computing Suite™ for HP ProLiant and BladeSystem server families to integrate in highly scalable and flexible infrastructure solutions for high performance computing (HPC), datacenter and cloud computing customers.

The worldwide reseller agreement lays the foundation for HP to deliver integrated dynamic workload solutions based on technologies from the established leaders in their respective HPC market categories. Adaptive Computing’s Moab technology automates the management of 10 of the 20 most powerful systems in the June 2009 TOP500 list and is widely deployed on HP platforms which comprised over 40 percent of the TOP500 supercomputing sites.

The unified automation intelligence delivered by Moab Adaptive Computing Suite extends far beyond reacting to requests and scheduling resources. It predicts the effect of scheduling decisions on the delivery of service level agreements both in real-time and into the future, makes intelligent policy-based decisions to optimize resource usage, and if necessary, adapts those resources to match future workload needs. The combination of Moab technology with HP software and platforms enables systems to be provisioned dynamically at the bare metal level with different software stacks and operating systems, including UNIX, Linux and Windows HPC Server 2008, delivering the optimum environment for the changing needs of compute- and data-intensive workloads. The current trend toward cloud computing only increases the requirement for these dynamic provisioning capabilities.
