In the “age of big data,” a new class of real-time Web-scale consumer-facing applications is poised to step into the spotlight. Leading the class are ad-tech companies, which are taking an integrated approach to data management that enables immediate interactions with consumers via tailored responses delivered in milliseconds. Chief technology and strategy officers from five ad-tech innovators will discuss their real-time big data strategies and implementations at an ad:tech New York conference roundtable moderated by Srini V. Srinivasan, co-founder and vice-president of engineering and operations of Aerospike (formerly Citrusleaf). The ad:tech New York conference runs November 7-8, 2012 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, New York, NY.
Real-Time Big Data: Ad-Tech Executive Strategies
At any moment, online advertisers can face thousands of potential opportunities, but identifying and acting on them requires the ability to receive a query, analyze data, and respond in 100 milliseconds or less. Moderator Srini Srinivasan will lead a panel of ad-tech chief technology and strategy officers in discussing how they are combining the use of NoSQL, Hadoop, SQL, and analytic platforms to meet this demand. Panelists examine how online advertising platforms leverage a number of strategies, including real-time bidding, to serve the most relevant ads based on real-time data that is cross-referenced with data warehouse analysis. They also will review how adding NoSQL databases for rapid access to big data is enabling them to gain immediate, actionable insights that were unavailable using data warehouses, Hadoop, and SQL databases alone. Finally, panelists will share their insights into best practices based on their real-world experiences.
