Currently several major organizations have encountered the problem of managing large volumes of data. These organizations have so far tried to develop solutions on established architectures, but unfortunately do not get the results you expect to have with high workloads representing Big Data processing, which grows ever more rapidly.
Perhaps this new server HP announced today, elProLiant Gen8 SL4500, can help with this problem, as it was created solely thinking Big Data processing.
ProLiant SL4500 is a server that includes processing, networking and storage units, which in theory and according to HP, optimize the performance of applications such as Hadoop and OpenStack.
HP says that this server uses roughly 60% less energy, requires fewer wires and takes up half the floor space of other servers. It has a modular design that allows for various types of storage configurations and process (power) for different types of jobs.
In terms of technology, using HP Smart Array and HP SmartCache, which HP reports that help streamline operations and speed input / output and accelerate the storage system responses.
Organizations already can buy anywhere in the world and its base cost is 7. $ 643.
