UK based media technology company MirriAd, which specialises in digital brand integration in broadcast and other professionally produced content for both online and television platforms, together with their in region partner Whisper Media, announce the expansion of Digital Brand Integration services covering local and regional productions in South East Asia, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam.
Whisper Media has set up operations in Jakarta and already delivered campaigns in Indonesia, and will be setting up offices in several other South East Asian markets to develop the digital brand integration business amongst key platforms and content producers in the region.
Since MirriAd appointed Whisper Media, partnerships have already been agreed with three of the region’s biggest broadcasters, Astro in Malaysia, SCTV in Indonesia, and Mediacorp in Singapore.
Ryo Fong, Senior Director, Programming and Scheduling, Television Channel U in Singapore, says, "Digital product placement technology opens up possibilities for media owners to deliver new solutions for advertisers. We are pleased to explore these possibilities with Whisper Media."
Whisper Media was founded over a year ago following the need for a higher and more scalable level of brand exposure within the branded entertainment industry in South East Asia. Well versed in the lack of scalability and accountability with pre production product placement, Whisper Media has witnessed first hand the conflicts that arise due to the differences between production and marketing timelines. MirriAd’s bespoke technology ZoneSense™ solves these conflicts and enables brands to be efficiently integrated into content at the push of a button. Mindshare Indonesia brokered Whisper Media’s first deal in the region integrating Unilever’s popular skincare brand Citra, into the country’s romantic drama Saranghae, I Love You; aired on one of its largest free to air television stations, Indosiar during the festive Ramadan period.
South East Asia is currently experiencing high levels of growth in media spend. According to analysis released by global media and information company Nielsen, advertising spend in the region exceeded US$5 billion in the third quarter of 2011, a three per cent jump from the previous quarter. Kian Kormi, SVP Asia, MirriAd, comments, “we have been seeing marked increase in interest in digital brand integration solutions across the region. The high local demand made it logical to appoint a local partner to best serve the market and Whisper Media, who have first-hand knowledge of the local media landscape and are already delivering high profile commissions for global brands in South East Asia were in pole position.”
