La GENIVI® Alliance continúa ofreciendo un crecimiento consistente

- 18 compañías miembro de GENIVI ofrecen ahora plataformas de software de cumplimiento para fabricantes de equipamiento original globales  

SAN RAMON, California, 11 de diciembre de 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- La GENIVI Alliance, una asociación de la industria de electrónica de consumo y automoción que impulsa el desarrollo y adopción de una plataforma de referencias abierta de In-vehicle Infotainment (IVI), ha anunciado hoy que 18 compañías miembro de GENIVI ofrecen ya a los fabricantes de automoción globales plataformas de software certificadas GENIVI.  

Una plataforma de software certificada GENIVI ofrece a los fabricantes de automoción el sistema operativo necesario, la infraestructura de sistema y los elementos de middleware en los que basar las aplicaciones diferenciadas y otras características que forman los componentes del software del sistema IVI de próxima generación de un fabricante.

"Desde la perspectiva de PSA Peugeot Citroen, GENIVI es el mejor en habilitar a muchos proveedores para competir en calidad, mientras ofrece una plataforma de software IVI consistente como se define por la Alliance en todas los requisitos de la industria", dijo Philippe Gicquel, director general de Connectivity, Telematics, Infotainment Modules, PSA Peugeot Citroen.  "Esto permite a PSA centrarse en la diferenciación que necesitamos para competir en el mercado del infoocio".

Lanzado en agosto de 2011, el programa de cumplimiento de GENIVI se diseñó para definir un conjunto detallado de requisitos técnicos, permitiendo a las compañías miembro cualificarse para las peticiones del fabricante, dándoles el beneficio de una infraestructura de software desarrollada comúnmente y mantenida colectivamente que comparte elementos no diferenciados, fomenta la reutilización a lo largo del tiempo y les permite concentrarse en un valor único comercializado para sus clientes.

Su última especificación de cumplimiento anunciada en la reciente junta de todos los miembros en Shangai requiere que las plataformas certificadas utilicen una versión actual del sistema operativo Linux. También añade nuevas capacidades Bluetooth™ y un gestor de nodo que recoge información de múltiples fuentes en el vehículo para permitir la rápida conmutación entre aplicaciones que comparten la misma pantalla.

La especificación 3.0 también requiere el uso de componentes de fuente abierta actualizados que gestionan las conexiones de Internet, establecen conexiones de redes bajo demanda, seleccionan y autentican redes Wi-Fi y ofrecen aplicaciones y servicios para hablar entre sí.

Las plataformas certificadas GENIVI se ofrecen desde un rango industrial completo de compañías miembro que incluyen proveedores de automoción de nivel uno, fabricantes de silicio más proveedores de software y servicio.  Los grupos de expertos dentro de estas áreas de tecnología han desarrollado una especificación para el middleware IVI de fuente abierta que se actualiza y mejora en alineación con las juntas de todos los miembros de GENIVI, con plataformas de cumplimiento creadas por miembros diseñadas para fabricantes de automoción para desarrollar unidades IVI de próxima generación.

El proceso es impresionante: las especificaciones de GENIVI se aplican por vendedores de software para crear una plataforma. Esto a su vez se combina con el hardware ofrecido por otros miembros de GENIVI que permiten a los fabricantes de automoción ofrecer los sistemas de infoocio más avanzados de la industria a sus clientes.
