GENIVI® Alliance continue de générer une croissance constante

- Les 18 sociétés membres de GENIVI offrent maintenant des plateformes logicielles conformes aux équipementiers mondiaux

SAN RAMON, Californie, 12 décembre 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- GENIVI Alliance, une association œuvrant dans le secteur de l'industrie automobile et des produits électroniques grand public, dont la mission consiste à favoriser le développement et l'adoption d'une plateforme référentielle d'infoloisirs embarquée (IVI) et de source libre pour l'automobile, a annoncé aujourd'hui que les 18 sociétés membres de GENIVI offraient maintenant aux fabricants mondiaux d'automobiles des plateformes logicielles qui sont enregistrées et conformes au GENIVI.

Une plateforme logicielle GENIVI conforme fournit aux constructeurs de véhicules automobiles le système d'exploitation, l'infrastructure système et les éléments de logiciel intermédiaire nécessaires pour construire des applications différenciées et d'autres fonctionnalités qui constituent les composants logiciels de la nouvelle génération de système IVI des constructeurs de véhicules automobiles.

Lancé en août 2011, le programme de conformité GENIVI a été conçu pour définir un ensemble détaillé d'exigences techniques qui permet aux sociétés membres de répondre aux critères des demandes de propositions des constructeurs de véhicules automobiles, leur offrant ainsi les avantages d'une infrastructure logicielle élaborée conjointement et maintenue collectivement qui partage des éléments non différenciés, favorise la réutilisation dans la durée et permet de se concentrer sur leur valeur unique et de marque de leurs clients.

La dernière spécification de conformité, annoncée lors de la récente réunion de tous les membres de GENIVI qui s'est tenue à Shanghai, exige que les plateformes conformes utilisent la version actuelle du système d'exploitation Linux. Celle-ci comprend également de nouvelles fonctionnalités Bluetooth™ et un gestionnaire de nœud qui rassemblent des informations provenant de sources multiples dans le véhicule afin de permettre une commutation rapide entre les applications partageant le même affichage.

La spécification 3.0 exige également l'utilisation de composants de code source libre (open source) mis à jour qui gèrent les connexions Internet, qui établissent des connexions réseau à la demande, sélectionnent et authentifient les réseaux Wi-Fi, et permettent aux applications et services d'échanger entre elles.

Les plateformes conformes GENIVI sont offertes par des sociétés membres représentant tous les secteurs de l'industrie, y compris des équipementiers automobiles de première catégorie, des fabricants de silicium ainsi que des fournisseurs de logiciels et de services. Des groupes d'experts provenant de ces domaines d'activités technologiques ont mis au point une spécification pour un logiciel intermédiaire IVI à code source libre qui est actualisé et amélioré, au fur et à mesure des réunions tenues entre tous les membres GENIVI, avec des plateformes conformes construites par les membres qui sont conçues pour que les constructeurs de véhicules automobiles développent la nouvelle génération des premiers dispositifs IVI.

Le processus est impressionnant : les spécifications GENIVI sont appliquées par les fournisseurs de logiciels afin de créer une plateforme. Celle-ci est ensuite combinée au matériel offert par d'autres membres de GENIVI afin de permettre aux constructeurs de véhicules automobiles d'offrir à leurs clients les systèmes d'infoloisirs les plus avancés de l'industrie.
