San Francisco, CA, February 12, 2013 --(PR.com)-- BMMsoft Corporation today announced the availability of EDMT® 9.1 on Hewlett Packard’s HP-UX Integrity servers with Itanium processors, including the latest Intel 9500 CPU generation, code-named Poulson. EDMT® 9.1 extends BI, Data Warehouse and ERP system on HP-UX with Big Data for analytics using industry-standard SQL interface, all without the need to build massive and expensive Big Data systems.
Enterprises using HP-UX servers and EDMT® can include Big Data in their existing BI and OLTP systems without the need to build expensive experimental Big Data systems. EDMT® 9 performs real-time data acquisition, indexing, access and cross-analysis of structured data (i.e. database records) and unstructured data such as social networks, emails, documents and multimedia.
“The power of HP-UX servers, Sybase SAP IQ and EDMT® 9, combined with flexible Cloud, On-Premise or Hybrid deployment offers the functionality that enables BI and ERP teams to seamlessly integrate existing data with Big Data – previously available only through expensive development efforts and long deployments,” said Paul Krneta, CTO of BMMsoft. “We have built the World’s Largest Big Data Database (1 Petabyte in size) in 2008 and world’s fastest Big Data loader in 2011, and with EDMT® 9.1 we’ve made that technology available to HP-UX customer base to solve their Big Data problem using enterprise-class technology at well under $10,000 per Terabyte of user data – a fraction of the cost of competitive offerings.”
Social networks, email, SMS, documents, multi-media, web content and database transactions contain critical insight and enable multi-channel analytics, BI reporting, litigations, audit, fraud detection, compliance and forensic analysis. Historically, solutions that can provide such functionality were out of reach of many enterprises who did not have the expertise, large programming teams nor budgets.
“We are excited to have EDMT available on HP-UX. There is a loyal share of the market that is running mission-critical applications successfully on HP-UX” said Vincent Belanger, VP of Information Management at Net Direct Systems, a BMMsoft Partner. “This solution enables organizations to step into the “Big Data and Analytics” space and transform themselves without counter intuitively disrupting highly invested core technologies, skill sets and processes in the act.”
“For organizations undertaking the Volume, Velocity, Variety and Veracity of data, not only can the EDMT solution can handle those needs, it also competes and price points in line with Hadoop based solutions, without the disruption.” continued Belanger.
EDMT 9.1 uses patented parallel ingest processing and proprietary real-time indexing methods to automatically tag, create metadata and ingest an entire data set into EDMT® 9.1 at speeds necessary to handle Big Data by even the largest enterprises. Resulting unified data can then be accessed and analyzed using common reporting, search and visualization tools, as well as advanced enterprise tools such as SAP Business Objects®.
Headquartered in San Francisco, CA, BMMsoft is a leading provider of Real-Time Big Data Analytic software that extends BI and Data Warehouse systems with storage, integration, management and analysis of Big Data. Its flagship product, EDMT®, is in use by commercial and government organizations in the United States, Europe and Asia to store, access and analyze very high volumes of structured and unstructured data in a single database to perform most demanding BI and mixed BI-text analytics up to 10,000x faster and at one-tenth the cost of alternative Big Data solutions.

Just over a week ago I received a long and loud sustained applause for a presentation I delivered at this year’s Cloud Expo in Santa Clara. I was extremely pleased with the turnout and had some very good conversations with many of the attendees. Over the next few days I had many more meaningful conversations and was not only happy with the results but also learned a few new things. Here is everything I learned in those three days distilled into three short points.

As organizations realize the scope of the Internet of Things, gaining key insights from Big Data, through the use of advanced analytics, becomes crucial. However, IoT also creates the need for petabyte scale storage of data from millions of devices. A new type of Storage is required which seamlessly integrates robust data analytics with massive scale. These storage systems will act as “smart systems” provide in-place analytics that speed discovery and enable businesses to quickly derive meaningful and actionable insights. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Paul Turner, Chief Marketing Officer at...

DevOps is about increasing efficiency, but nothing is more inefficient than building the same application twice. However, this is a routine occurrence with enterprise applications that need both a rich desktop web interface and strong mobile support. With recent technological advances from Isomorphic Software and others, rich desktop and tuned mobile experiences can now be created with a single codebase – without compromising functionality, performance or usability. In his session at DevOps Summit, Charles Kendrick, CTO and Chief Architect at Isomorphic Software, demonstrated examples of com...

Too often with compelling new technologies market participants become overly enamored with that attractiveness of the technology and neglect underlying business drivers. This tendency, what some call the “newest shiny object syndrome” is understandable given that virtually all of us are heavily engaged in technology. But it is also mistaken. Without concrete business cases driving its deployment, IoT, like many other technologies before it, will fade into obscurity.

Microservices are a very exciting architectural approach that many organizations are looking to as a way to accelerate innovation. Microservices promise to allow teams to move away from monolithic "ball of mud" systems, but the reality is that, in the vast majority of organizations, different projects and technologies will continue to be developed at different speeds. How to handle the dependencies between these disparate systems with different iteration cycles? Consider the "canoncial problem" in this scenario: microservice A (releases daily) depends on a couple of additions to backend B (re...

The cloud. Like a comic book superhero, there seems to be no problem it can’t fix or cost it can’t slash. Yet making the transition is not always easy and production environments are still largely on premise. Taking some practical and sensible steps to reduce risk can also help provide a basis for a successful cloud transition. A plethora of surveys from the likes of IDG and Gartner show that more than 70 percent of enterprises have deployed at least one or more cloud application or workload. Yet a closer inspection at the data reveals less than half of these cloud projects involve production...
