ServInt, a pioneering provider of managed cloud hosting for businesses worldwide, today announced that Ubuntu is now available as an operating system choice for its Flex line of virtual private servers.
“Ubuntu has grown by leaps and bounds since its introduction in 2004,” said ServInt CTO Matt Loschert. “It is now the most popular Linux distribution in the desktop and laptop world, with increasing popularity on the server side as well. Since a large number of our customers are located in developing nations, where Ubuntu is extremely popular, the decision to add it was an easy one. CentOS will remain the standard OS for the vast majority of our customers, but for those who want Ubuntu, that option is now available.”
ServInt is offering Ubuntu with the latest long-term support (LTS) version – 12.04.1 – in both 32-bit and 64-bit iterations.
