Bomgar, a leading provider of secure remote support solutions, today announced the Bomgar Remote Support Client for Samsung, a new app that allows technology support professionals to remotely control and support Samsung Android smartphones and tablets. Building on its robust capabilities for supporting mobile devices, Bomgar now enables you to fully access, view, control and fix Android-powered Samsung devices located anywhere in the world.
The Bomgar Remote Support Solution is used by thousands of service desks and support centers worldwide to access and fix remote computers, systems and mobile devices. By downloading the new, free app from Google Play, Bomgar customers can now also provide comprehensive support for Samsung Android devices, including:
- Full screen-sharing and remote control to troubleshoot the device
- Viewing system information to more quickly diagnose the issue
- Chatting with the end-user to better understand the issue and educate the customer
- Transferring files to and from the device
Whether dealing with employees who bring their own device (BYOD) to work, or customers who need help with a mobile app or site, support professionals can quickly resolve issues no matter where they or their end-users are located.
“Today’s support teams must be equipped to handle issues across a wide variety of devices and platforms, and they don’t have time to jump between multiple support tools,” said Troy Harrison, VP of product management, Bomgar. “We understand smartphones and tablets are becoming the primary device for many people, and that’s why we don’t charge extra or require add-ons for supporting mobile devices. Bomgar is a single, centralized solution that allows you to support all of your systems, including Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, BlackBerry and more. Plus, it allows you to conduct multiple sessions simultaneously and collaborate with other reps within sessions, allowing you to be more productive and resolve issues faster.”
The Bomgar Support Client for Samsung works with any Samsung smartphone or tablet running Android version 2.3 and higher. Once the app is installed, end-users simply send a support request and then click a link to jump right into a remote session. From there the technician can see the screen and control the device as if they were holding it in their own hands.
Bomgar also offers a number of remote support features for Android devices made by manufacturers other than Samsung, including viewing system information and transferring files. Plus, Bomgar’s Mobile Representative Console for Android allows support technicians to provide support from any Android device.
