SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/18/13 -- Polkast, a service that connects mobile devices, computers and storage drives, enabling fast and easy access to large media libraries via WiFi or remotely, today announced support for the NETGEAR® ReadyNAS® models, including the Duo v2 and NV+ v2. Priced at $5.99, the Polkast app is available for download in the NETGEAR genie®+ Marketplace.
NETGEAR ReadyNAS owners can now enjoy all of the content stored on their storage device from their iPad, iPhone, Android or Kindle Fire, in an easy-to-use interface that includes features for editing and sharing.
The ReadyNAS Duo v2 and NV+ v2 are always-on devices for centralized file storage and backup. Polkast provides the software for secure on-demand content access from mobile. No syncing is required, and users maintain control of their private files in their own private cloud.
"People buy a NAS to get easy access to their data from anywhere," said Hong Bui, Founder and CEO of Polkast. "NETGEAR is an innovator and market leader in network attached storage with an easy-to-use platform, so we are thrilled to be a part of their offering."
"Polkast is a highly-rated, easy-to-use service which enhances NETGEAR solutions for small businesses and homes," said Cedar Milazzo, Senior Program Director of the Smart Network Platform. "We're very happy to welcome Polkast into the genie+ Marketplace."
The Polkast app on the NETGEAR ReadyNAS devices is compatible with the free Polkast mobile apps available in the iTunes App Store, Google Play and Amazon App Store. For more information, and to download the free Polkast homebase companion app for Windows and Mac, please visit www.polkast.com.
