sTec Inc. Research Report

On June 24, 2013, sTec, Inc. (sTec) and Western Digital Corporation (Western Digital) announced that they have signed a definitive merger agreement under which sTec will be acquired by HGST, a wholly owned subsidiary of Western Digital, for c.$340 million in cash (equal to $6.85 per share). This represents an enterprise value of approximately $207 million, net of sTec's cash as of March 31, 2013. According to the sTec, the Company's engineering talent and intellectual property will complement HGST's technical expertise and capabilities.
