SYNTASA Delivers Killer Big Data Analytics Apps Powered by Hortonworks Data Platform

SYNTASA™ today announced it has joined the Hortonworks Technology Partner Program to offer an Analytics as a Service (AaaS) platform on enterprise Apache™ Hadoop®. The SYNTASA™ analytic applications focus on addressing specific business challenges by delivering real-time decision science results, not just a toolset for developing analytics.

Utilizing Hortonworks Data Platform, the industry’s only 100-percent open source Apache Hadoop distribution, SYNTASA is able to immediately scale Big Data Analytics for real-time ingestion, algorithm execution and output to dramatically change the speed and understanding of business decisions. Example applications from SYNTASA are in the online retail-marketing sector driving content personalization and more effective campaign management. Additional applications targeted in the U.S. federal government sector and financial services sector include cyber threat detection and fraud detection.

“The big data analytics market to date has been hampered by scarce talent capable of implementing Hadoop clusters and integrating massive data sets from internal and external sources without having the right analytics tools at hand,” said Jay Marwaha, President and CEO of SYNTASA. “Hortonworks is the natural platform for SYNTASA’s real-time Analytics as a Service offering. Our combined solution provides a scalable platform able to aggregate and integrate data from social media, machine and sensor activity, browser behavior, geo-location and mobile device activity, IP addresses, purchasing history, weather patterns and trends, census information and many others.”

“We are happy to welcome SYNTASA to our Technical Partner Program and to further expand the reach of Apache Hadoop through an innovative analytics as a service model,” said John Kreisa, vice president of strategic marketing at Hortonworks. “By powering purpose-built algorithms from SYNTASA on the Hortonworks Data Platform, customers are able to secure unprecedented real-time insight from their big data using a flexible and convenient on-demand service.”

When we are looking at the world of IoT, we should take a step back, look at the big picture. What value are these devices providing. IoT is not about the devices, its about the data consumed and generated. The devices are tools, mechanisms, conduits. This paper discusses the considerations when dealing with the...

Poor data quality and analytics drive down business value. In fact, Gartner estimated that the average financial impact of poor data quality on organizations is $9.7 million per year. But bad data is much more than a cost center. By eroding trust in information, analytics and the business decisions based on these, it is a serious impediment to digital transformation.
To Really Work for Enterprises, MultiCloud Adoption Requires Far Better and Inclusive Cloud Monitoring and Cost Management … But How? Overwhelmingly, even as enterprises have adopted cloud computing and are expanding to multi-cloud computing, IT leaders remain concerned about how to monitor, manage and control costs across hybrid and multi-cloud deployments. It’s clear that traditional IT monitoring and management approaches, designed after all for on-premises data centers, are falling short in ...
Machine learning has taken residence at our cities' cores and now we can finally have "smart cities." Cities are a collection of buildings made to provide the structure and safety necessary for people to function, create and survive. Buildings are a pool of ever-changing performance data from large automated systems such as heating and cooling to the people that live and work within them. Through machine learning, buildings can optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve occupant comfort by ...

Disruption, Innovation, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Leadership and Management hear these words all day every day... lofty goals but how do we make it real?
