GigaSpaces’ Cloudify is Verified as Citrix Ready

GigaSpaces Technologies, a provider of software middleware for deployment, management and scaling of mission-critical applications on cloud environments, today announced that Cloudify has been verified as Citrix Ready®. The Citrix Ready program helps customers identify third-party solutions that are recommended to enhance virtualization, networking and cloud computing solutions from Citrix. Cloudify completed a rigorous verification process to ensure compatibility with Citrix CloudPlatform™ powered by Apache CloudStack to automate the installation and management of multi-tier applications on CloudPlatform.

Cloudify’s open-source cloud orchestration software platform provides deployment, management and automatic scaling of complex, enterprise applications on the cloud. Cloudify automates the entire application lifecycle, significantly minimizing the complexity of managing applications on the cloud.

Cloudify provides Citrix CloudPlatform users a simple tool with which to deploy, monitor, heal and scale their complex applications by automating their processes in the cloud. The combined solution enables users to automate and orchestrate multi-tier application deployments on top of CloudStack, as well manage and monitor post-deployment processes.

In addition, through Cloudify’s abstraction layer, Cloudify makes it possible for Citrix CloudPlatform users to easily build a hybrid cloud solution between CloudStack and other clouds for business continuity, disaster recovery, and cloud-bursting scenarios. This means that CloudPlatform users can extend their Cloudify deployments to other environments, including high-performance environments, such as bare-metal and even non-virtualized environments.

“Citrix Ready makes it easier for customers to select the most suitable cloud products for their specific needs,” said Greg Fox, Director, Citrix Ready Program at Citrix. “By taking part in our program, GigaSpaces’ Cloudify has enabled its customers to obtain a high-quality user experience and the simplest means for making an informed product purchasing selection.”

“As a member of the Citrix Ready program, we are able to offer customers intelligent solutions that combine Cloudify with CloudPlatform,” said Adi Paz, EVP Business Development and Marketing at GigaSpaces. “Together, they provide a comprehensive orchestration solution for automating the deployment and management of applications on the cloud, creating the highest quality experience for our customers.”

IoT & Smart Cities Stories
When talking IoT we often focus on the devices, the sensors, the hardware itself. The new smart appliances, the new smart or self-driving cars (which are amalgamations of many ‘things'). When we are looking at the world of IoT, we should take a step back, look at the big picture. What value are these devices providing. IoT is not about the devices, its about the data consumed and generated. The devices are tools, mechanisms, conduits. This paper discusses the considerations when dealing with the...
Machine learning has taken residence at our cities' cores and now we can finally have "smart cities." Cities are a collection of buildings made to provide the structure and safety necessary for people to function, create and survive. Buildings are a pool of ever-changing performance data from large automated systems such as heating and cooling to the people that live and work within them. Through machine learning, buildings can optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve occupant comfort by ...
