New Members Span Market Segments and Geographies, Advance Support for the Broadest Cross-Industry Effort to Accelerate the Internet of Everything in New Verticals

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/17/14 -- The AllSeen Alliance, the broadest Internet of Everything open-source project, today announced that ControlBEAM, Fortune Techgroup, FreeWings Technologies, Grid2Home, Legrand Group, MachineShop and Vedams are the group's newest members. Since its formation in December 2013, the AllSeen Alliance has brought together 58 organizations to collaborate on an open software framework, based on AllJoyn open source code, to connect devices and services regardless of brand, transport layer, platform or operating system.

AllSeen Alliance members are located across the world and represent diverse market segments including consumer electronics manufacturers, home appliance makers, automotive companies, Internet of Things (IoT) cloud providers, enterprise technology companies, innovative startups, chipset manufacturers, service providers, retailers and software developers.

The addition of these new members strengthens the roster of enterprise and industrial solutions providers within the Alliance, with the goal of expanding AllJoyn beyond the connected home:

  • ControlBEAM, provides a unifying open source platform to create and distribute apps for controlling products and automating business, retail, and home;
  • Fortune Techgroup, service provider and semiconductor technology supplier in China;
  • FreeWings Technologies, provides research and development as well as design for next generation wireless communications;
  • Grid2Home, a provider of software solutions for the IoT market: Connected Home, Smart Grid, Smart Cities, and Industrial IoT;
  • Legrand Group, the global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures;
  • MachineShop, provides enterprises and device OEMS with the technology to service-enable their businesses through hundreds of discrete, managed APIs that simplify the interfaces to the Internet of Everything; and
  • Vedams, specializes in storage engineering and test services.

ControlBEAM is a leading innovator of business, retail and home automation solutions. ControlBEAM provides an open source platform to unify and simplify M2M communications and digital life experiences through an interoperable interface to connected products, people, and enterprise data, all structured as digital objects. The platform is designed to support all primary use cases within a digital world, from intelligent sensors and networks to machine control and human/machine interfaces.

Grid2Home is committed to an open standards approach and actively contributes to the creation of IoT standards and their related networking protocols. The company has developed solutions across more than 50 different platforms, including more than a dozen processor families, running on more than 10 operating systems, and supporting six different physical interfaces.
